Chairman's Message

Dear Visitor:

Welcome to the website of the Northwest Indiana Quality of Life Council.  the QLC is a member organization composed of individuals from business, government, labor, education and social action organizations in Indiana's Lake, porter, and LaPorte counties.  Our common purpose is to create a better, more sustainable life for the residents of our region.

Although we are a diverse organization, we share a commitment to place.  We are proud to live in northwest Indiana, and we hold the common belief that our quality of life here will only be sustained through our joint efforts to improve social equity, economic development, and environmental quality.

In support of this purpose, we maintain and publish a set of "quality of life indicators" to document trends and help set the agenda for improvement of our region. For the past several years, we have recognized distinguished residents and outstanding youth for their various contributions through our annual Quality of Life Awards. 

Our quarterly membership meetings are open to the public and are listed on this site.  You will also find information concerning our various publications here.
